Preschool Assistant (Casual/Supply)

About the role

This position supports preschool programs for children aged 0‑6, promoting safety, development and compliance with the Club’s mission and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Early Childhood Educator in assessing preschool needs, developing goals and implementing age‑appropriate programs.
• Apply policies from the Child Care Early Years Act and Children’s Services Operating Criteria in daily operations.
• Ensure safety and security of children, maintain safe equipment and facilities, and oversee supplies.
• Facilitate weekly program planning that enhances cognitive, physical, social and emotional development.
• Supervise children individually and in groups, assist with dressing, toileting, feeding and encourage self‑help skills.
• Maintain accurate attendance records, complete required checklists (food temperature, equipment sanitation, medication administration, fire drills) and complete incident reports.
• Keep the environment clean, organized and safe, and support transitions to swimming or extracurricular activities.
• Communicate any illness or special circumstances to the supervisor promptly.

Required profile

• Current Standard First Aid CPR‑C certification.
• Criminal reference check completed within the last six months.
• Experience caring for children aged 18 months to 6 years.
• Up‑to‑date immunization records.
