About the role
Take on the responsibility of a community leader with Canada Post. The Postmaster, reporting to the Superintendent/Local Area Manager, promotes and sells postal products and services while supervising staff and ensuring excellent customer focus.
Key responsibilities
- Liaise with the local community regarding Canada Post services and products.
- Sell and promote postal products and services to the public and businesses.
- Provide suitable premises in a central, barrier‑free location within 30 days of hire.
- Administer the post office to meet retail hours and delivery expectations.
- Manage postal revenue, assets, records and reports.
- Supervise staff, keep the office neat and maintain cleanliness.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or equivalent and/or experience in business administration.
- Owned or leased premises (suitable, central and barrier‑free) available one month prior to hire.
- Experience interacting with the public in a retail or service environment, including sales and cash transactions.
- Physically able to lift mail containers up to 50 lb and stand for extended periods.
What we offer
- A leasing allowance of $2,283 per year to help offset operating costs.
- An annual supplemental allowance to assist with premises‑related expenses.
