Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Neuroinflammation & MS

About the role

The Quandt Laboratory at the University of British Columbia is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to lead an independent project investigating mechanisms of inflammation, tissue injury, and repair in multiple sclerosis (MS) and related neuroinflammatory conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to study how a mutation in a cholesterol transporter influences inflammatory demyelination and tissue repair.
• Generate mechanistic insights into pathways regulating myelin damage and regeneration.
• Collaborate with trainees and multidisciplinary team members across the laboratory.
• Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present results at scientific conferences.

Required profile

• PhD in neuroimmunology, neuroscience, pathology, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated record of research productivity and scientific rigor.
• Ability to work independently, show initiative, and lead a research program.
• Strong passion for CNS disease and translational research.

Required skills

• Experience with experimental approaches in neuroimmunology.
• Proficiency in data analysis and scientific writing.
• Capability to mentor and collaborate with students and staff.
