Postdoctoral Fellow – Nature Therapy Research

About the role

The Multidisciplinary Institute of Nature Therapies (MINT) at the University of British Columbia is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to advance interdisciplinary research on the health effects of nature‑based interventions. The successful candidate will join the Guangyu Wang Lab in the Department of Forest Resources Management and lead studies that examine physiological and psychological mechanisms underlying nature therapy.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement experimental protocols, clinical observation schemes, and health‑survey frameworks for nature‑therapy research.
• Collect and analyse physiological data (e.g., nervous system, cardiovascular, endocrine, immune markers) and psychological scale data.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative empirical research, including participant recruitment and data management.
• Prepare high‑quality manuscripts for SCI/SSCI journals, research reports, and project deliverables.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to integrate findings into broader health‑science initiatives.

Required profile

• PhD in a medical, health‑science, or related biomedical field.
• Strong background in human health research, including experience with physiological and psychological assessments.
• Ability to work independently and manage full‑cycle research projects.
• Excellent scientific writing and communication skills.
