Postal Clerk – Retail and Operations

About the role

Join Canada Post’s dynamic mail operations and retail environment as a Postal Clerk. This temporary on‑call role offers a flexible schedule with the possibility to work days, evenings, overnights and weekends, providing valuable exposure to both customer‑facing and mail‑handling duties.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver sales and customer‑service activities to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
• Operate a computer point‑of‑sale (POS) system and process financial transactions (cash, cheques, debit & credit cards).
• Maintain floor displays, conduct merchandising and inventory control.
• Receive, sort, sequence, batch and review mail items for address accuracy and proper postage.
• Operate mail‑processing equipment, clear jams and transport mail between sections.
• Stand for extended periods and handle mail items up to 22.7 kg (50 lb).

Required profile

• Experience in customer service within a retail setting.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Physical capability to lift and move mail items as described.
