Plant Manufacturing Manager

About the role

The Plant Manufacturing Manager will lead Lactalis Canada’s dairy production facility in Etobicoke, overseeing safety, quality, cost efficiency and continuous improvement to meet the annual operating plan.

Key responsibilities

• Manage overall plant operations, ensuring production schedules, cost targets, productivity and quality standards are achieved.
• Lead and develop plant management staff through hiring, performance reviews, coaching and training.
• Maintain a safe work environment by implementing corporate health‑and‑safety programs, investigating incidents and driving corrective actions.
• Promote excellence in manufacturing practices to optimize yield, reduce rework and control costs.
• Support and maintain quality assurance programs, including HACCP, PQMS and GMP, and participate in audits and reviews.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain, Sales, Customer Service and Finance to maximize overall effectiveness and efficiency.
• Provide regular financial and productivity reviews to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the food or dairy sector.
• Strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Ability to develop high‑performing teams and foster employee involvement.
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
