Pharmacy Dispensary Lead – Iqaluit (Relocation Support)

About the role

The North West Company is seeking a Pharmacy Dispensary Lead for its Iqaluit location. This position combines leadership of the dispensary team with hands‑on duties as a Pharmacy Assistant II or Registered Pharmacy Technician. Full relocation assistance is provided for the successful candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and support Pharmacy Assistants and Clerks while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Assist the Pharmacist Manager with scheduling, narcotic counts, and month‑end reporting.
• Lead special projects such as audit preparation and staff training for home‑office initiatives.
• Process prescriptions accurately, handle claims adjudication, and manage compliance packaging and remote distribution.
• Maintain patient profiles, inventory, and dispensary cleanliness in line with standards.
• Deliver excellent customer service and support growth initiatives like medication reviews and vaccination clinics.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years experience in a high‑volume pharmacy dispensary.
• Formal training/certification as a Pharmacy Assistant or registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician.
• Strong customer‑service orientation, attention to detail, and organizational ability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with pharmacy software programs (prescription entry and inventory management).
• Experience with Kroll pharmacy system (asset).
• Knowledge of NIHB Pharmacy Provider guidelines and claims processing.
• Familiarity with federal and provincial/territorial pharmacy regulations.
