Pharmacist – Senior Care Pharmacy (Edmonton)

About the role

CareRx is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join its Edmonton team, providing pharmacy services to long‑term care, retirement and congregate living communities. The Staff Pharmacist works under the Designated Pharmacy Manager to ensure prescriptions are dispensed accurately, safely and in a therapeutically appropriate manner for residents with complex medication needs.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the pharmacy team to dispense medication orders accurately, safely and on time.
• Verify medication administration, assess and dispense critical and palliative‑care prescriptions.
• Conduct medication regimen/profile reviews and document recommendations.
• Arrange drug deliveries with the delivery team and coordinate with resident‑care staff.
• Provide exceptional customer care to patients, home partners and the resident‑care team.
• Consult with pharmacy management on unresolved issues and ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Pharmacist in Alberta.
• Experience working in senior‑care or long‑term‑care pharmacy settings is preferred.
• Strong clinical knowledge to assess therapeutic appropriateness of complex medication regimens.
• Ability to work under the direction of the Designated Pharmacy Manager and respond quickly to urgent prescription needs.
