Pharmacist Manager – Arviat, Nunavut

About the role

The North West Company is seeking a Pharmacist Manager to lead its Northern Pharmacy in Arviat, Nunavut. You will combine clinical expertise with operational leadership to deliver patient‑centered care in a remote community.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with provincial pharmacy regulations, practice standards and drug formulary requirements.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy legislation.
• Oversee NIHB claims submission and store operating procedures.
• Manage pharmacy staff – recruitment, orientation, training, performance accountability and leadership.
• Provide patient‑focused care, collaborate with local healthcare professionals and community agencies, and lead community education initiatives.
• Identify business opportunities and nurture relationships with healthcare centres, nursing stations and physician clinics.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and licensure by the relevant provincial College of Pharmacists.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain continuing education requirements.
• Effective communication skills for counseling patients, staff and other healthcare providers.
• At least one year of management experience preferred.
• Willingness to relocate to Arviat, NU.
