Pharmacist – Clinical Leadership & Sterile Compounding

About the role

The Pharmacist will provide clinical leadership and practice management to ensure safe, effective medication therapy for patients of Bayshore Specialty Rx. Working closely with the Dispensary Manager and Supervisor, the role focuses on optimizing pharmacy operations, supporting staff, and delivering high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide drug information and answer inquiries from patients, caregivers, and health‑care providers.
• Conduct clinical monitoring, care planning, and medication therapy assessments.
• Program, check, and troubleshoot infusion pumps; assess IV orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
• Develop and maintain sterile compounding worksheets in line with OCP/NAPRA guidelines.
• Process Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) and Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) medication orders.
• Supervise IV intake orders and ensure proper communication with providers and Ontario Health at Home.
• Counsel clients on safe medication and equipment use; supervise and educate pharmacy students.
• Participate in continuing education events and quality‑control initiatives.
• Respond to after‑hours requests and fulfill on‑call duties as needed.

Required profile

• B.Sc. Pharm or PharmD with current licensure in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
• Experience in infusion delivery methods and sterile compounding preferred.
• Ability to work on feet for an entire shift and handle physical demands of the role.
