Personal Support Worker (PSW) – Cantonese Speaking

About the role

Compass Homecare is seeking a compassionate Personal Support Worker (PSW) who is fluent in Cantonese to provide high‑quality home care to clients across the Greater Toronto Area. This casual, part‑time position offers flexible scheduling, allowing you to work 3–12 hour shifts during mornings, evenings, overnights, and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance.
• Assist with activities of daily living, prepare meals, and give medication reminders.
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and accompany clients to appointments or community outings.
• Offer companionship, emotional support, and respite care for families.
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation and report any changes in client health or environment.

Required profile

• Fluent verbal and written Cantonese; strong English communication skills.
• Personal Support Worker certificate from a recognized Ontario program (NACC certification required).
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, valid Vulnerable Sector Check, and recent TB test or chest X‑ray.
• Reliable transportation and access to a mobile phone with internet.
• Proof of required immunizations (COVID‑19, MMR, Tdap, Polio, Varicella, Hepatitis B).
