Permanent Part‑Time Educational Assistant I (50% – 18.5 hrs/week)

About the role

The Prairie Valley School Division is seeking a dedicated Educational Assistant I to join Montmartre School on a permanent part‑time basis (50%, 18 hrs 25 min per week). The role supports students with intensive needs, fostering independence, academic success, and personal growth in a K‑12 environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care such as catheterization, medication administration, oxygen monitoring, gastrostomy tube feeding, brief changes, and toileting assistance in line with each student’s accommodation plan.
• Coach students in life‑skills and daily routines to prepare them for life after high school.
• Deliver academic support under the direction of teachers, including small‑group or one‑on‑one reinforcement and assignment assistance.
• Maintain accurate student programming records, documenting progress on targeted goals and contributing to inclusion and intervention plans.
• Participate in parent‑student‑teacher conferences when requested.
• Model and promote positive behaviour interventions and supports.

Required profile

• Experience or training in providing personal care to students with special needs.
• Ability to follow detailed accommodation and care plans.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
