Permanent Part-Time Prep Teacher (0.1 FTE)

About the role

The Durham District School Board is seeking a dedicated Permanent Teacher to provide coverage for a Prep (Primary/Junior) classroom on a 0.1 full‑time equivalent basis. You will join a supportive community that values Indigenous partnerships and inclusive education.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned lessons for Prep students.
• Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community members to enhance learning outcomes.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse student needs.

Required profile

• Ontario Teaching Certificate (OCT) in good standing.
• Special Education/Primary qualification.
• Eligibility to teach Prep (Primary/Junior) grades.
• Willingness to provide a current Criminal Background Check with vulnerable sector screening.
