About the role

The Durham District School Board is seeking a dedicated Permanent Teacher for Grade 1/2 classrooms. You will create a vibrant, inclusive learning environment where elementary students thrive academically and socially.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned lessons for Grade 1/2 students.
• Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust instruction as needed.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture where every child feels valued.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community partners to support student learning.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs.

Required profile

• Ontario Teaching Certificate (OCT) in good standing.
• Qualified in Primary (Elementary) education.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and Indigenous reconciliation.
• Willingness to undergo a criminal background check with vulnerable sector screening.
