Permanent Elementary Teacher (Grade 4/5) – 0.3 FTE

About the role

The Durham District School Board is seeking a dedicated Permanent Teacher to join its elementary team on a 0.3 Full‑Time Equivalent basis. You will work with Grade 4 and 5 students, creating a vibrant, inclusive classroom where every learner can thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned lessons for Grade 4/5.
• Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust instruction as needed.
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment that values diversity and promotes student well‑being.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community partners to enhance learning outcomes.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of all students.

Required profile

• Ontario Teaching Certificate (OCT) in good standing.
• Subject qualification in Primary/Junior education.
• Ability to teach Grade 4 and Grade 5 classes.
• Willingness to undergo a criminal background check with vulnerable sector screening.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and Indigenous reconciliation.
