Pediatric Physiotherapist

About the role

This is a school‑based Pediatric Physiotherapist position for School District 79, located in the Clements Building. The role involves assessing, planning and delivering physiotherapy services to children with complex medical conditions, working closely with families and a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate clients’ physical abilities using functional testing, observations and physician referral notes.
• Plan, develop and adjust physiotherapy programs, including motor learning, balance, gait training and equipment prescription.
• Maintain clinical and statistical records and collaborate with multidisciplinary health professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Implement physiotherapy interventions using home/work exercise regimes, electro/hydro‑therapeutic and mechanical equipment in individual and group settings.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in physical therapy and registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC in good standing.
• Minimum two years of clinical experience as a physical therapist, preferably with pediatric clients with complex medical conditions.
• Knowledge of family‑centered practice and ability to work effectively with families, colleagues, volunteers and diverse organizations.
• Current satisfactory criminal record check and a valid B.C. driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with data management systems for clinical documentation.
• Experience operating electro‑hydro‑therapeutic and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to deliver motor learning, balance and coordination training, gait training, and exercise program design.
• Prescription and fitting of adapted equipment for pediatric clients.
