Payroll Support Specialist (Part‑time)

About the role

The Payroll Support Specialist provides front‑line payroll assistance to the UBC Okanagan campus community. Working part‑time (0.8 FTE), you will ensure timely and accurate payroll processing while delivering high‑quality customer service to staff and faculty.

Key responsibilities

• Administer payroll for the Okanagan campus, meeting deadlines and handling schedule priorities.
• Act as the primary liaison for staff inquiries, resolving technical issues, missing reports, and transaction status questions.
• Collaborate with the Human Resources team, the Vancouver Payroll Team, and the Integrated Service Centre to address payroll and benefits queries.
• Troubleshoot and resolve ServiceNow tickets and Workday notifications related to payroll and benefits.
• Escalate complex issues to the Payroll Lead and coordinate with the Leave of Absence Desk.
• Analyze incidents, recommend process and system improvements, and contribute to documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Prepare and distribute confidential payroll reports and ensure accurate tax‑form data for year‑end requirements.

• Attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality and privacy regulations.

Required skills

• Experience using ServiceNow for ticket management.
• Proficiency with Workday payroll and benefits modules.
