Part‑time Thrift Store Sales Associate

About the role

The Thrift Store Sales Associate works as part of a team to manage daily operations of the Salvation Army thrift store, providing friendly service to customers while handling donations and cash transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Sort, price, and display donated items.
• Perform quality‑control checks on merchandise.
• Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries.
• Operate the cash register and Interac machine.
• Count cash, prepare bank deposits, and handle cash‑handling procedures.
• Maintain store cleanliness: sweep, mop, and remove garbage daily.
• Transport donations from the drop‑off area to the sales floor.
• Assist with picking up donations for the food bank.
• Participate in general tidying of the store interior and exterior.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Thrift Store Supervisor.

Required profile

• Team‑oriented individual who can work collaboratively with the Thrift Store Supervisor and fellow staff.
• Reliable and punctual, able to work in varying weather conditions for occasional outside tasks.
• Customer‑focused with good communication skills.
