Parts Inventory Specialist

About the role

The Parts Inventory Specialist reports to the Director of Parts and Warehouse for Eastern Canada and is responsible for optimizing parts inventory across Toromont Material Handling’s branch network. This strategic position focuses on improving inventory turnover, service levels, and distribution efficiency while supporting branch operations.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze, optimize and maintain inventory levels to boost stock turnover and customer service.
• Define and recommend inventory management strategies for the distribution network.
• Reduce obsolescence through elimination, redistribution, or rationalisation of stock.
• Process quarterly or semi‑annual excess inventory returns to suppliers.
• Generate replenishment orders based on network requirements.
• Manage daily emergency customer orders and provide accurate ETAs.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable/Receivable and advise branches on parts operations.
• Develop inventory strategies for New Product Introductions (NPI) and act as a reference for best practices.
• Maintain accurate parts pricing in the operating system and apply statistical inventory planning methods.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations/Industrial Engineering or equivalent, or a college diploma with relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy‑equipment parts management or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to influence and support multiple branches.
