Part-Time Registered Nurse – McCall Centre (3rd Floor)

About the role

Join the McCall Centre at Queensway Health Centre as a part‑time Registered Nurse. You will work on the 3rd floor of a 120‑bed chronic‑care facility, providing comprehensive nursing care to patients transitioning back to the community.

Key responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Deliver goal‑oriented treatments, patient and family education, and support for medical, cognitive, emotional and self‑care needs.
• Develop realistic discharge plans and act as a coach, mentor and consultant for the care team.
• Participate in program planning, continuous quality improvement and evaluation activities.
• Provide unit clinical leadership during each shift as needed.

Required profile

• Graduate of a recognized School of Nursing with a Baccalaureate degree.
• Current registration (or eligibility) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Recent experience caring for inpatient medical, rehabilitation and complex‑care populations.
• Knowledge of geriatric rehabilitative nursing practice.
• Demonstrated ability to educate patients and families and to deliver patient‑ and family‑centered care.
• Strong critical‑thinking, problem‑solving and leadership skills within a multidisciplinary team.
• Reliability, flexibility and willingness to work 12‑hour day and night shifts, seven days a week including statutory holidays.

Required skills

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
