Part-Time Package Handler

About the role
Postmedia Parcel Services is seeking reliable, flexible individuals to join its St. John's team as part‑time package handlers. In this role you will support the daily flow of parcels through the sorting facility, ensuring accuracy and safety.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare inbound stations by setting up racks, bags and cages.
- Label stations with correct hub/sort codes.
- Scan, sort and place parcels into the appropriate bags or cages.
- Verify sort codes to prevent missorts.
- Report missorts or package issues to administrators.
- Bag and cage sorted freight and stage it for carrier pickup.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Communicate any supply needs, damages or delays to leads.
Required profile
- High school diploma.
- Reliable transportation to the facility.
- Basic English language proficiency.
- Availability for up to 12‑hour shifts, including weekdays and weekends.
- Warehouse experience is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Capability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lb.
