Part-Time Intermediate Math & English Tutor

About the role

Oxford Learning Mississauga Central is looking for a part‑time Intermediate Math & English Tutor to work with Grade 5‑8 students. The role starts in August 2026 and runs through the school term, with the possibility to continue over the summer.

Key responsibilities

• Teach up to three students simultaneously, following pre‑planned lesson plans.
• Deliver both in‑person and online sessions according to the centre’s schedule (Monday‑Thursday evenings, Saturdays).
• Complete post‑lesson notes and daily communication updates for each student.
• Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor and encourage student engagement.

Required profile

• Available Monday‑Thursday 4 pm‑8 pm and Saturdays 10 am‑2 pm.
• Commitment to work through the end of the term (June) and preferably through the summer.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field; fourth‑year university students with tutoring experience are also considered.
• Knowledge of the Grade 5‑8 curriculum in Math and English.
• Strong written and oral English communication skills.

Required skills

• Ability to guide students’ understanding of Math and English concepts.
• Multitasking – managing up to three learners at a time.
