Part-Time English Tutor

About the role

Oxford Learning in New Westminster is seeking enthusiastic part‑time English tutors to work with students in an in‑person learning centre. You will teach up to three learners at a time, using pre‑planned lessons that follow the company’s proven methodology. The role is scheduled for after‑school, evening and occasional weekend hours.

Key responsibilities

• Teach up to three students simultaneously at various K‑12 levels.
• Deliver lessons in‑person, adhering to Oxford Learning’s curriculum and teaching philosophy.
• Complete post‑lesson notes and daily communication updates for each student.
• Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor and foster a positive learning environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field (fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience are also considered).
• Teaching certification is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum.
• Experience teaching or tutoring K‑12 students.
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage up to three students at once.
• Willingness to work evenings (3 pm‑8 pm) and some weekends (10 am‑6 pm).
• Ability to commute to the New Westminster location; vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
