Part-Time Cleaner – Flexible Hours

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Part‑Time Cleaner who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness and empowerment. The Cleaner ensures a high standard of cleanliness and neatness of Wesley’s buildings in Hamilton and Halton, covering common areas, program spaces, client bedrooms, and outdoor grounds.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and sanitising of residential and office facilities, keeping all areas orderly, well‑stocked and compliant with health, safety and operational standards.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly cleaning checklists, special deep‑clean requests and maintain accurate cleaning logs.
• Use a variety of cleaning equipment and approved chemicals safely and efficiently.
• Carry out repetitive physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 30 lb and climbing stairs while following safe work practices.
• Adapt to indoor and outdoor environments, handling heat, cold, humidity, noise and wet surfaces.
• Interact professionally with staff, visitors and clients, and collaborate with volunteers and team members.

Required profile

• Minimum high school diploma with additional courses in janitorial, hygiene or infection control.
• At least two years of experience in cleaning similar facilities.
• Sensitivity to work in culturally diverse programs and with marginalized persons.
• Current First Aid, CPR and Non‑violent Crisis Intervention training.
• Flexible availability for day, evening and weekend shifts.
• Ability to travel between multiple locations in Hamilton and Halton.
