Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 2

About the role

At Hot Topic we’re passionate about music, pop culture, and creating an amazing in‑store experience. We’re looking for a Part‑Time Assistant Manager – Level 2 to help lead the loudest store in the mall and support the Store Manager in meeting sales and team goals.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in achieving sales targets and comp sales goals.
• Recruit, develop and retain a collaborative, passionate team.
• Create buzz and customer engagement through product promotion, social media, BOPIS and curbside pickup.
• Provide leadership for operationally sound business practices, balancing delegation and customer‑first selling.
• Monitor shrink, loss prevention, payroll hours and associate schedules.
• Communicate trends and customer feedback with retail leadership and HQ partners.
• Run sales reports and use data to guide strategy.
• Merchandise the store according to planograms and launch promotions on time.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of retail store management experience.
• Passion for music and pop culture.
• Proven ability to lead teams to success.
• Strong communication, recruiting and operational skills (payroll, reporting, scheduling, merchandising).
• High school diploma or GED (degree preferred).
• Ability to handle fast‑changing retail environment and physical tasks such as lifting boxes up to 50 lb.
