Operating Room Registered Nurse

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Operating Room Registered Nurse to join the surgical team at Grey Nuns Community Hospital in Edmonton. The RN will work in both scrub and circulating capacities, delivering high‑quality peri‑operative care to patients across a range of specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments, develop care plans and implement prescribed treatments.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses during surgical procedures.
• Document treatment progress and evaluate outcomes.
• Act as advocate, coordinator and liaison for patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
• Provide patient and family education and assist with discharge planning.
• May serve as charge nurse when required.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program.
• Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta.
• Current Basic Life Support (Level C) certification.
• Ability to thrive in a busy team environment and uphold high standards of care.
