On‑Call Postal Clerk – Retail & Operations (Malartic)

About the role

Join Canada Post’s dynamic mail operations and retail environment as an on‑call Postal Clerk in Malartic. This temporary position offers flexible scheduling across days, evenings, overnights and weekends, providing a solid introduction to mail processing and customer‑facing services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform sales and customer‑service activities to ensure complete satisfaction.
• Operate a computer point‑of‑sale system and process financial transactions (cash, cheques, debit & credit cards).
• Maintain floor displays, conduct merchandising and inventory control.
• Receive, sort, sequence, batch and review mail items for address accuracy and proper postage.
• Operate mail‑processing equipment, clear jams and transport mail between sections using rolling or motorized equipment.
• Stand for up to 3.5 hours and handle mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items up to 15.9 kg (35 lb).

Required profile

• Experience in customer service within a retail environment.
• Sales experience is an asset.
• Experience working in a production environment is an asset.
• Bilingual imperative (English/French) as required by the posting.
