About the role

The City of Woodstock is seeking an on‑call crossing guard to ensure the safety of children at designated street crossings. This part‑time, entry‑level position works on a scheduled basis and is essential to maintaining a safe environment for school‑age pedestrians.

Key responsibilities

• Arrive at assigned crossing at the specified start time and remain until the shift ends.
• Wear a reflective safety vest and operate a hand‑held stop sign throughout the crossing period.
• Hold the stop sign while extending the opposite arm to guide children safely across the street.
• Escort children across the roadway, confirming that all vehicles have stopped before allowing passage.
