On‑Call Child & Youth Support Worker (Casual)

About the role

The Department of Huuḥtakšiiḥinʔaała (Education and Youth) is looking for enthusiastic on‑call Child and Youth Support Workers to lead and assist with after‑school programs, Pro‑D Day activities and seasonal camps for children and youth aged 7‑16. The role focuses on recreation, land‑based learning and cultural connection.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support age‑appropriate programming for children and youth.
• Provide active supervision, ensuring safety and positive participation during activities and outings.
• Respond calmly to first‑aid situations and follow emergency procedures.
• Model healthy lifestyles, respectful communication and cultural values.
• Set up, clean up and organise materials and program spaces.
• Incorporate cultural, recreational and land‑based activities reflecting Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ values.

Required profile

• Responsible Adult Certification preferred (ECEA, ECE or related diploma).
• Experience supporting children in group settings such as camps or after‑school programs.
• Valid First Aid/CPR‑C or willingness to obtain before start date.
• Clear Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector screening.
• Strong interpersonal, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
