Office Assistant (Work‑Study)

About the role

This work‑study position supports the Internships & Student Affairs Office by handling front‑desk duties and providing administrative assistance. It is a part‑time role for eligible McGill students, offering practical experience in a busy campus environment.

Key responsibilities

• Attend the front desk, greet visitors, provide information and direct them as needed.
• Answer emails and phone calls promptly and professionally.
• Follow up with internal and external parties via email.
• Organize and maintain digital files.
• Perform general clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, and shredding.
• Assist with special events and projects during regular working hours.

Required profile

• High school diploma (minimum) and current enrollment in a McGill program (excluding Faculty of Education).
• Eligibility for the McGill Work‑Study Program.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills in English; French is an asset.
• Good knowledge of McGill’s campus, services and resources.
• Ability to work in a busy, flexible environment while remaining punctual, organized and professional.

Required skills

• Basic web editing experience (asset).

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $17.00 (AMUSE A).
• Part‑time schedule: approximately 12 hours per week.
• Fixed‑term contract from 30 August 2026 to 31 December 2026.
