Office Assistant A (Audition Proctor)

About the role

The Department of Music Performance at McGill University is seeking a part‑time Office Assistant to serve as an Audition Proctor. This temporary position supports student musicians during auditions, ensuring a smooth and professional experience.

Key responsibilities

• Greet visitors and answer general inquiries with a positive attitude.
• Prepare the audition room, including equipment setup and number draw administration.
• Escort student musicians to the audition space and remain present to provide assistance as needed.
• Collect completed paperwork from panelists and return documents to the Ensemble Resource Office.
• Maintain a tidy and organized audition environment throughout the session.

Required profile

• Current music student at McGill University (or equivalent) who is not participating in the audition.
• Demonstrated knowledge of music and familiarity with the Schulich School of Music.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills (level 3 proficiency).
• Eligibility to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
• High school diploma; no prior experience required.
