Night Shift Project Superintendent – Heavy Civil Construction

About the role

We are seeking a Night Shift Project Superintendent to lead on‑site activities for a major dam project in Campbell River, BC. The role involves overseeing construction teams, subcontractors and ensuring safety, quality and schedule compliance during night‑time operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to site personnel, subcontractors and project teams.
• Interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications and subcontract agreements.
• Assist the Project Manager with schedule development, monitoring and milestone achievement.
• Plan and coordinate construction activities, including safety, quality, environmental procedures, staging, equipment and workforce requirements.
• Coordinate and monitor subcontractors, suppliers, inspection agencies and internal crews.
• Identify and resolve construction issues while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
• Lead daily operations and chair regular safety and coordination meetings.
• Prepare daily reports on labour, materials, equipment and project progress.
• Review and approve timecards, subcontractor payment requests, material vouchers and invoices.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of construction supervision experience on heavy civil infrastructure projects.
• Hands‑on experience with earthworks, structural concrete, forming and drilling operations.
• Experience on dam, hydroelectric, bridge or highway projects is highly preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
• Basic understanding of construction administration, project documentation and cost control processes.
• Fluent English (bilingualism an asset).
