Night Shift Maintenance Machine Assembler

About the role

This position supports Cargill’s protein and salt business by ensuring that production and sanitation equipment runs reliably during the night shift. You will work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, applying maintenance best practices to keep assets operating at peak efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Disassemble, assemble, and perform routine maintenance on sanitation‑related equipment.
• Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production machinery.
• Respond promptly to service calls to keep production on schedule.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and equipment‑modification tasks as needed.
• Participate in equipment improvement and replacement projects.
• Maintain a clean shop, complete work orders, requisitions, and related documentation.
• Document work and equipment status using the CMMS platform.

Required profile

• Legally eligible to work in Canada and at least 18 years old.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting up to 50 lb, climbing ladders and working at heights.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use standard maintenance tools.

Required skills

• Welding and fabrication.
• Equipment modification.
• Preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance techniques.
• Use of power tools, hand tools and precision maintenance instruments.
• Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) proficiency.
• Knowledge of food industry standards (HACCP).
• Familiarity with Bizerba labeling equipment.
