Night Shift Laboratory Technician

About the role

Join Intertek’s Montreal laboratory as a Night Shift Laboratory Technician. You will be responsible for receiving, testing, and reporting on a variety of fuel and chemical samples during the overnight shift, ensuring high‑quality results for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Check‑in incoming materials using GLIMS software and record all relevant data.
• Perform analyses following ASTM, ISO, NACE, and IP standard methods.
• Operate analytical equipment such as GC, GC‑MS, ICP, flash‑point testers, and densimeters.
• Analyze products including gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and aromatics (benzene, xylene).
• Prepare samples, quality‑control specimens, reagents, and calibrate instruments.
• Document results in instrument logs, control charts, calibration records, and electronic worksheets.
• Monitor supply levels and notify laboratory management of any shortages.
• Assist in training less‑experienced staff.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of chemistry and laboratory practices.
• Physical ability to perform required tasks.
• Positive attitude, high tolerance for pressure and long hours.
• Effective communication with diverse team members.
