Network Analyst I – Wireless

About the role

The University of British Columbia is seeking a Network Analyst I to join its IT Network and Infrastructure Services team. This position focuses on supporting and expanding the campus‑wide wireless network that serves thousands of users across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Provide field support and implementation for the Cisco‑based enterprise wireless network.
• Perform RF analysis, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure optimal network performance.
• Provision, install, and maintain indoor and outdoor Wi‑Fi equipment, including antennas, patch cords, and mounting solutions.
• Monitor capacity requirements and assist with network planning projects.
• Collaborate with internal IT units, external institutions, and research partners to deliver reliable wireless services.

Required profile

• Relevant post‑secondary education or equivalent experience in networking.
• Ability to work independently in field environments and follow safety protocols.
• Strong analytical skills to assess network performance and resolve issues.
