MRB Engineer

About the role

The MRB Engineer will lead Material Review Board activities for complex electrical, mechanical and optical assemblies within Mecaer America’s landing‑gear business. This role coordinates across manufacturing, quality, procurement, supplier quality, material planning and engineering teams to resolve non‑conformances and ensure product integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead MRB activities: review, disposition and resolve defects and non‑conforming conditions.
• Document abnormalities, determine engineering root causes and validate that rework will not affect system functionality.
• Set turnaround times, coordinate meetings, drive timely disposition and escalate issues as needed.
• Create and publish dashboards and analytical reports on MRB performance.
• Collaborate with production floor and supply chain to support process improvements, lessons learned and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with MRB and quality procedures, and train team members.
• Provide onsite technical support, interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and test procedures.
• Facilitate improvement projects to enhance quality metrics.
• Compile data and write analytical reports on non‑conformance studies, promoting best practices.
• Apply PPAP core elements (PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, Control Plans) to manage risk in internal and supplied products.
• Support audits, engineering change orders and any additional tasks assigned by management.

Required profile

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and test requirements.
• General knowledge of materials used in aeronautics.
• Strong understanding of aeronautical manufacturing, assembly and testing processes.
• Proficiency with computer systems and the MS Office suite.
