Mobile App Developer

About the role

RTINGS.com, a leading product‑review platform, is looking for a Mobile App Developer to build and launch its first native mobile experience. You will work closely with product, design and backend teams to translate the existing web platform into a high‑quality iOS and Android app using Hotwire Native.

Key responsibilities

• Establish the mobile development pipeline and deliver the MVP for iOS and Android.
• Develop native screens and bridge components when web‑based views are insufficient.
• Collaborate with the Head of Product and Rails/backend team to iterate quickly on the mobile experience.
• Ensure web views, APIs and shared platform capabilities perform well inside the native shell.
• Make pragmatic engineering decisions that balance speed of delivery with long‑term maintainability.
• Publish, monitor and maintain releases on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
• Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve stability, performance and user experience.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in Rails, full‑stack or mobile development.
• Strong craftsmanship mindset with a focus on clean, maintainable code.
• Ability to own new initiatives, move quickly and collaborate closely with teammates.
• Passion for researching products and helping users find the best solutions.

Required skills

• Ruby on Rails
• Hotwire (Turbo, Stimulus)
• Hotwire Native (Turbo Native) or ability to ramp up quickly
• iOS development with Swift/SwiftUI
• Android development with Kotlin/Jetpack Compose
