Mid-Level Systems Administrator (Windows/Azure)

About the role

We are looking for a mid‑level Systems Administrator to join JAM Industries’ IT Infrastructure team in Montréal. The role focuses on maintaining and supporting the company’s Windows, Active Directory and Azure environments, ensuring reliable and secure operations across North America.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
• Perform daily operational tasks in Azure/Entra, including virtual machine management, VNet/NSG configuration, storage, monitoring, and backups.
• Support and troubleshoot Azure hybrid identity (Entra Connect) issues.
• Provide L2/L3 escalation for systems‑related incidents and service requests.
• Monitor system health, performance, and capacity; apply patches and updates.
• Execute backup and restore operations and ensure recovery readiness.
• Conduct log analysis and root‑cause troubleshooting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and OS‑level logs.
• Collaborate with SysAdmins, network, security, web/application, and SQL teams.
• Support infrastructure components of business applications and peripheral devices such as printers and warehouse/RF devices.
• Follow standards set by the Lead SysAdmin/Architect and document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Required profile

• 6+ years of hands‑on Systems Administrator experience.
• 4+ years of operational experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Strong Windows Server and Active Directory administration skills.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, subnets, routing basics, firewall concepts, DNS).
• Experience supporting enterprise environments of 1,000–5,000 users.
• Proven L2/L3 troubleshooting abilities.
