About the role

The Medical Office Assistant (MOA) provides essential administrative and clinical support to physicians, residents, and allied health professionals in the Sport and Exercise Medicine Clinic at UBC Vancouver. The role involves managing confidential patient records, coordinating schedules, and ensuring smooth clinic operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) and confidential paper files.
• Process high‑volume inbound and outbound medical documents, including classification and coding.
• Book appointments and manage patient flow using the Input Health system.
• Provide pre‑ and post‑treatment information to patients as directed by healthcare providers.
• Offer relief support to other MOAs and assist with basic computer and medical technology troubleshooting.
• Communicate schedule changes to physicians and staff promptly.

Required profile

• Strong judgment and ability to work cooperatively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Familiarity with clinic policies, procedures, and patient confidentiality standards.
• Flexibility to adapt to daily/weekly changes in physician availability.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• Experience using the Input Health scheduling system.
