Medical Equipment Technician (Public Service)

About the role

The Materials Distribution Agency is seeking a qualified Medical Equipment Technician to support Manitoba government‑funded health programs. You will work on‑call to repair, maintain, and install a variety of medical devices, ensuring reliable service for health‑care clients across the province.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on all program‑assigned medical equipment.
• Install new equipment and verify proper operation at client sites.
• Respond to on‑call service requests on a rotational basis, providing timely support to resolve equipment issues.
• Assist warehouse operations by picking, packaging, and delivering equipment as needed to meet performance targets.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation for each intervention.

Required profile

• Electromechanical Technician Certificate, Trade Certificate, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Proven experience in maintenance, repair, installation, and distribution of medical or similar equipment.
• Valid driver’s licence and experience operating a service vehicle for deliveries and pickups.
• Warehouse experience, including order picking and packaging.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
