Mechanical Project Engineer

About the role

As a Mechanical Project Engineer at Soucy, you will lead mechanical projects from concept to production, handling everything from material selection to implementation. You will own each phase, coordinate stakeholders, and provide technical guidance to drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct studies, research, and analyses for assigned projects.
• Develop and validate concepts through engineering calculations.
• Design projects using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Ensure clear communication between stakeholders and internal teams.
• Manage the full project lifecycle: needs analysis, design, procurement, manufacturing supervision, installation, and start‑up.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to employees for continuous improvement.
• Guarantee compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Identify root causes of equipment failures and propose corrective actions.
• Approve and seal plans, specifications, and technical documents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• More than 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and take full ownership.
• Strong communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Fluent reading and speaking English (intermediate level acceptable).
