Mechanical Engineer – Industrial Plants (Toronto)

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Toronto office and support industrial plant projects in the pharmaceutical, agrifood and biotech sectors. The role involves delivering mechanical and utilities designs from concept through construction, ensuring compliance with client specifications and local codes.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in client needs analysis and project definition.
• Develop conceptual, preliminary and detailed mechanical designs, drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Prepare technical reports, design submissions and review shop drawings for compliance.
• Visit project sites, conduct surveys and provide construction supervision.
• Manage deliverables, coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams across North America and maintain reference standards.
• Ensure designs meet local, provincial and national regulations.

Required profile

• 6‑12 years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, drainage, refrigeration, steam, chilled water, hot water and fire‑protection system design.
• Current registration with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is an asset.
• Proven ability to lead design and on‑site construction or commissioning projects.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast‑paced environment.
