Mechanical Designer

About the role

Camfil Power Systems is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join its fast‑growing team in Laval. You will be responsible for creating and optimizing 3D models and detailed drawings for air‑filtration and acoustic treatment systems used in gas turbines.

Key responsibilities

• Review design requirements and define project scope.
• Develop and optimize SolidWorks 3D models and drawing packages while meeting quality, cost, and timeline constraints.
• Ensure designs comply with specifications, industry standards, and legislation.
• Optimize designs for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
• Identify problems, propose solutions, and incorporate them into designs and drawings.
• Participate in design reviews and support project engineers and sales teams.
• Prepare sales drawings, 3D models, and bills of material (BOMs) based on customer requirements.
• Create standard/catalog parts for the company database.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of mechanical design experience with a willingness to learn.
• Strong knowledge of SolidWorks.
• Good understanding of fabrication and welding processes, including welding symbols.
• Experience designing industrial sheet‑metal products.
• Solid grasp of mechanical design fundamentals and drafting practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Bilingual in spoken and written English and French.
