About the role

The Centre de gestion de l'équipement roulant (CGER) is seeking a Class II Mechanic to join its network of 57 workshops across Quebec. The successful candidate will work on new‑vehicle assembly, maintenance, and calibration for a fleet of over 10,000 public‑sector vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble new vehicles, including electrical connections and component installation.
• Repair and maintain mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Repair and maintain major parts of various machines.
• Perform tuning and calibration of equipment.
• Conduct inspections and detect defects.
• Apply the SAAQ preventive maintenance program (PEP).

Required profile

• Relevant technical training in vehicle or mechanical maintenance.
• Experience with repair and upkeep of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
