MD Admissions & UG Admissions Coordinator

About the role

The MD Admissions & UG Admissions Coordinator provides essential administrative support for both the Doctor of Medicine program and a wide range of undergraduate programs at the University of British Columbia. The role ensures that admissions files are complete, accurate, and ready for final evaluation during each admissions cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and process complete admissions applications for MD and undergraduate programs.
• Perform straightforward evaluations of undergraduate applications and read specific sections of MD applications for academic and non‑academic assessment.
• Provide detailed policy and procedural information to applicants and their families.
• Manage and control both paper and electronic records, converting hard‑copy mail to digital files and handling EDI, fax, and email submissions.
• Coordinate the transition between UG admissions (December to mid‑July) and MD admissions (mid‑July to November) according to the admissions calendar.

Required profile

• Experience in higher‑education admissions or similar administrative environments.
• Ability to evaluate application components and apply university admission policies.
• Strong organizational skills for handling large volumes of documents and electronic data.
• Excellent communication skills to assist applicants, parents, and internal staff.
