Manufacturing Test Software Engineer

About the role

dcbel is a fast‑growing clean‑energy company developing home energy stations that integrate solar, EV charging, backup power and grid interaction. They are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Test Software Engineer to design, implement and continuously improve a comprehensive manufacturing test strategy while collaborating with hardware, software and firmware teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, validate, implement and automate high‑quality testing solutions for home energy stations, covering electronics, power and electrical safety.
• Establish production testing specifications, conduct periodic test review meetings and produce required documentation and test reports.
• Provide rapid support to production to resolve test equipment or script failures and work with manufacturing/quality engineers on complex issues.
• Develop, debug, implement and maintain automated functional test scripts.
• Integrate data acquisition, dashboarding and test commands with dcbel tools and databases.
• Ensure systematic collection and storage of test data in a well‑defined database platform.
• Specify testing equipment and define regular maintenance and calibration schedules in collaboration with manufacturing engineering.
• Design, build and bring up test benches (hands‑on asset).

Required profile

• Degree in software engineering, electrical engineering or a related field; eligible for engineering registration in Québec or equivalent Canadian accreditation.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience as a Manufacturing Software Engineer or a similar role involving electronics.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, results‑oriented attitude and strong emotional intelligence for effective cross‑team collaboration.
