Manager, Tax – Canada (15‑month term)

About the role

The Manager, Tax – Canada will lead a high‑performing team responsible for corporate, international and regional tax matters for BHP’s Canadian operations, including the Jansen Potash Project. This 15‑month fixed‑term position is based in Saskatoon or Toronto and operates in a hybrid work model. You will translate tax strategy into operational plans, ensure compliance and influence key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a tax team covering corporate, international and regional tax compliance.
• Interpret and apply Canadian and international tax legislation to advise on complex transactions.
• Design and execute audit strategies, manage tax controversies and support dispute resolution.
• Oversee tax compliance processes, including planning, analysis and reporting.
• Monitor tax policy and legislative changes, advocating BHP’s position where appropriate.
• Identify, assess and embed risk‑management practices in line with BHP frameworks.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver aligned tax outcomes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in corporate, international and regional tax management.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian tax law and international tax principles.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑changing, global environment.
