Manager, Business Development

About the role

GitLab is seeking a remote Manager of Business Development for the Americas region. In this position you will lead, hire, and mentor a team of outbound Business Development Representatives, partnering closely with sales and marketing to generate qualified pipeline and drive new‑logo growth.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, onboard and coach BDRs, conducting weekly 1:1 sessions to improve performance.
• Train the BDR team on prospecting, qualification and opportunity creation techniques.
• Collaborate with Events and Digital teams to execute field events and targeted campaigns.
• Work with Sales Development Leadership and Operations to refine opportunity management processes.
• Partner with Regional Sales leaders to identify and develop strategic accounts.
• Coordinate with Content, Marketing Program Managers and Product Marketing to craft outbound messaging.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sales, marketing or customer‑service for a technical product.
• Demonstrated people‑management experience; leading teams that serve commercial accounts.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Experience with CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce.
• Background in sales operations or marketing is a plus.
