Maintenance Technician – Residential Housing

About the role

The Maintenance Technician will join Pacifica Housing’s Maintenance Team to perform a variety of residential building repairs and installations, ensuring units are safe, functional, and meet quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and maintenance tasks such as plumbing, appliance servicing, drywall patching, painting, and minor electrical work.
• Install and assemble residential components including doors, blinds, and other fixtures.
• Post tenancy notices in compliance with the Residential Tenancy Act.
• Clean and repair units between tenancies according to organizational specifications.
• Report safety incidents or accidents immediately to the Manager of Maintenance.
• Complete and submit maintenance work orders, mileage claims, and related paperwork.
• Maintain positive relationships with supportive‑housing staff and tenants.
• Work independently to meet deadlines and keep the Manager informed of progress and issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a non‑profit housing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to perform residential building maintenance, including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks.
• Two years of experience in suite renovations or building maintenance is preferred.

What we offer

• Competitive hourly wage of $30.58‑$32.93 (CAD).
• Full‑time schedule: 8:30 am‑4:00 pm, Sunday to Thursday (70 hours bi‑weekly).
