Maintenance Technician – Luxury Hotel Facility Systems

About the role

The Fogo Island Inn is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure the smooth operation of its luxury hotel facilities. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day performance of critical building systems on a remote island location, supporting a team that values sustainability and community.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation and maintenance of water‑treatment, boiler, refrigeration, air‑conditioning, humidifier, hot‑tub, HRV, hydronic solar, laundry and kitchen equipment.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks according to schedule.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date spare‑parts inventory.
• Coordinate work orders with the Maintenance Team Lead and external contractors.
• Monitor and troubleshoot the building management software.
• Enforce all safety rules and procedures on site.
• Prepare operating procedures for equipment and machinery.
• Mentor junior staff and promote a culture of continuous learning.
• Work weekends, shifts and overtime as required.
